the tryst of night and day.
The scent of soft temptation
that steals your breath away.

Words wrapped in promises;
Speak he truth or lies?
Skin as smooth as honeyed mead
And jaded crystal eyes.

Every thread of being beckons,
It calls you to his arms.
Alas, the witless victim lies
Helpless to his charms.

Disarming smile, tender hands
Unto him she yields.
Spectre-like, he passes freely
Past her mind’s own shields.

A longing, yearning gaze,
Her throbbing, racing heart.
A gasp and rush of passion
Drives her lips apart.

And in the cloaking darkness
To himself he smiles.
The predator has caught his prey,
His scent alone beguiles.

With tenderness of hand
He lightly cups her cheek
And tilting her chin skyward
He feels her knees go weak.

Ready lips kiss trembling skin
As he holds her near.
Her blithe heart knows only love
While his remains austere.

In fickle light his teeth are bared
And a hunger all-consuming
Seizes hold and draws blood
Now greedily assuming.

Death perhaps a kinder fate
For one as pure as she,
Now blood-bound to the path
Of those damned eternally.

His hunger never sated,
and bound to serve desire,
He takes once more to the night
One with the shadows,
-Vampyre.
